Acutic — Research, not signals. Multi-Agent Investment Research for Self-Directed Investors

Acutic is a multi-agent investment research workspace for self-directed investors. Five analyst agents produce side-by-side analysis on any instrument you choose. You read the evidence and decide.

What Acutic is

Retail investors who manage their own money usually get one of two things: raw data terminals that leave all the interpretation to them, or "signal" services that hand out stock tips with no reasoning attached. Acutic is the third path. Its tagline is Research, not signals. It is built for the self-directed investor with a real portfolio and a few years of experience, who already values evidence over a hot take and wants a disciplined process rather than a list of names to act on.

Pick any stock or ETF and Acutic's five analyst agents examine it in parallel: fundamentals, technical setup, risk, news sentiment, and quality, plus how the instrument would fit the portfolio you actually hold. Each agent's findings sit side by side, so you can see where they agree and where they disagree, and the scoring methodology is public: seven sub-scores from 0 to 100, combined with weights that depend on the strategy you chose. Score backtests show how those scores would have played out historically, so the model is something you can check rather than trust blindly.

Around the research sits the tooling for running a portfolio with discipline: a market screener and strategy template gallery, research pages with candlestick charts, indicators and news, a watchlist with a daily digest, multi-currency portfolio and position tracking, a dividend calendar, broker import from CSV and German broker PDFs, a trade journal that holds you to your own rules, and a German tax report covering the Vorabpauschale. After 7, 30, 90, 180 and 365 days, an evaluation loop measures the quality of your decision process, not just the outcome.

Acutic is deliberately a research and analysis service, not an advisor. It never executes trades and never gives personalised buy, sell or hold recommendations, and every AI-generated output is labelled as such. The product is open to everyone and free to use today; the Access, Analyst and Research tiers are defined and Euro pricing will be announced before the paid tiers go live. The Acutic blog publishes long-form pieces on systematic investing and the practical side of running a retail portfolio in Germany, from the Sparer-Pauschbetrag to the EU AI Act.

Technologies used in the project

  • Monorepo with pnpm workspaces and Turborepo: API, background worker, product dashboard, marketing site, end-to-end tests
  • API and worker: NestJS with TypeORM on PostgreSQL, BullMQ on Redis for queues and scheduled jobs
  • Dashboard and marketing site: Next.js with TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, TanStack Query, Recharts and lightweight-charts; localisation in English, German and Turkish
  • AI agents: OpenAI models behind a provider abstraction; every agent output is validated against a Zod schema before it is stored, and the models are never allowed to invent market data
  • Market data and news through a provider layer (Finnhub, OpenBB, Yahoo Finance, NewsAPI), FX rates from Frankfurter
  • Testing: Vitest, Jest with Testcontainers for integration tests, Playwright end-to-end suite, and a compliance word scanner that runs on every commit and in CI
  • Platform: Kubernetes (RKE2) on Hetzner Cloud with Helm charts per service, KEDA autoscaling for the worker, NGINX Ingress and cert-manager TLS, Cloudflare DNS managed with Terraform
  • Delivery: GitHub Actions on self-hosted runners, images in GitHub Container Registry, chained Helm upgrades on every merge to main
  • Observability: Sentry, PostHog, structured JSON logging and a database-level audit log
